Record Heat I : night swimming

Well, the Van Dyk family survived the record heat here in the Northwest. All three of us slept in the (main floor) guestroom every night to avoid baking in our upstairs bedrooms.
We escaped to the outlet mall one day to take shelter in the air conditioning. As I was parking my car in the middle of the massive black asphalt parking lot my car thermometer read 106. Yikes.
But it was our little blue pool that we relied on the most. Not only did we cool off in it during the day, but the record heat allowed us a special treat - night swimming! After dark, when it was STILL too hot to put Hale to sleep, we played in the pool to cool down before bed. Hale loved splashing around in the dark.
I played around with some long exposures to try to capture our fun. I usually caught Hale as just a little streak...here he is blurry but relatively recognizable.
